5+ starsMatt Bowers (always with Matt Bomer pops in my mind) is a forest ranger in Lucky Harbor and he's an ex-Navy and ex-cop. He's not a typical forest ranger but a drop dead gorgeous sexy hot forest ranger. From the description of the Chocoholics (the girls namely Amy, Grace, and Mallory), I can feel or imagine the man himself is really good looking and that still sounds understatement for me. Anyway, he's another tortured soul guy who originally from big city but sought after Lucky Harbor to find quiet and peace. His intention is to forget and start over. Only this time, make friends, being content with his comfortable life and no whatsoever strings attached to another woman.
Just like Ty (guy in previous book), he is heading to the whatever doom and with guarantee that he will fall hard. Damn hard he couldn't do anything about it. Of all women, he is attracted only to one beautiful woman who works at diner called Eat Me - Amy Michaels. Anyway, he can only savour her from afar because the lady is one tough woman very hard to get. Thanks to Mallory, he finally, slowly to let himself into Amy's life. He's happy with the progress and as the time went by, he discovers the unexpected and he finally knew why Amy is... Amy.
Amy trusts no one and she keeps people away from her. She keeps signaling people she's with bad, bad attitude and best not to mess with her. She always being careful with everything she said as so not to give whatever about herself away to others. She had a tough life and tough experience until she brought herself to Lucky Harbor, a place she felt content with. Here she worries about nothing and she make plenty of friends. She discovers happiness and her life is finally full of joy. However, she seeks these; hope, peace, and love.
Whenever she's free, she'll go hiking and follow the instructions in a journal given by her late grandmother. Her grandmother told her she found hope, peace and love in Lucky Harbor and so Amy wishes the same. Although she always thinks she's with bad attitude, she's actually not. She's a nice person and cares about others, without she's knowing it. The moment she starts to share, it's the moment she wants to be in someone's life and wants someone to be in her life. For that, she wants Matt to be that someone and she hopes, same thing goes for him.
I loved this book very much. Anything that includes the walk of nature, hiking, mountain viewing, peace and quiet surrounded with green and the only sound came is from birds' chirping - totally, absolutely will gain gazillion stars from me because that's exactly what I love to do and as a researcher, I'm glad I have plenty of opportunity to enjoy flora and fauna. I loved the romance, too. Matt and Amy fused together really well, they are so funny, exciting and they made me laugh, a lot. The book is so full of warmth, so blissful.
At Last for sure will be the top, the most favourite book in Lucky Harbor series. I love it.
Highly recommended.
