Safe Word

Safe Word - Teresa Mummert 5 stars ~ favourite

This book has a bittersweet story. Seriously I had a hard time to review this because I have mixed feelings about it. Like I hated it but I loved it too. Perhaps I am as mental as the characters in the book.

The story is about kidnapping. Then it got to do with undercover agent of some sort. Also drugs, murders, a certain mob.

So for the entire 85% of this book I experienced these - I was so frustrating with Cole/Colt/Cam and Rose/Lily/Ruby. Cole is mental. Like seriously. One time he turned into cruel, twisted, mean jerk and then, he changed into one with sweet, romantic talk. Rose is also mental. Spineless lady she is no matter how many times Cole said she's a fighter or something like that. The thing is this duo has the utmost intense attraction ever. The romance is over the top with skyrocketed lust. Couldn't help from squirm and swoon! It's whirlwind!

I am frustrated as well with the remain 15% because I couldn't grasp with the ending. They didn't make sense to me. Besides, it ended fast too. I was like, "That's it??!"

Despite all the things I said, reasons I gave this book high rating because this book is very unique. Score with male POV, my current guilty pleasure. Score with a mental hero and very mean, even though it's just a mask but such character is still rare. Score with the writing because it's easy to read, no bombastic word spotted and that's why I love the author back then and now. Score again because nothing I love more than a book that wins my heart regardless it's bittersweet madness.

Oh I might as well ignored BDSM. Even it's mild one. I survived it anyway I had worst before and you know which book.

Am I want to go into this kind of craziness once again? I think not. Once is way too much thank you but I will keep tabs on the author. I can't wait to grab her next best stand alone. Please no series it's tiring.

That's all. Read on your own peril.
